First I'm going to finish Christmas shopping for my family. My brother and I are going to get picked up by my dad and go visit him in Washington for a couple days. My dad said its really cold there and there is a lot of snow to. When I get back home I'll be excited to open presents and give my presents to whom I got them for. There's a new years eve rodeo in Albany every year and my brother is riding bulls there. So hopefully he keeps winning and being a confident man like he is.

Indian reservations are areas of land given to Native American tribes by the United states Government. In the 1850-60s, the government decided to move Indians to land that was unwanted by settlers. Many of the tribes did not want to move to new lands and refused. Soon the government sent in the U.S. Army force them to move to the new reservation lands. This caused many bloody wars between the Indians and the U.S. Army. Eventually, most Indians did move to the reservations. Today, reservations are run by their own tribal council, and less than half of Indians live on the reservations. Many of the Indians who live off the reservations live in large Western cities, like Phoenix and Los Angeles.
If I would create a new Christmas tradition it would probably be The whole family would wake up on Christmas morning. Sit on the living room floor and give each other our presents we bought them. All take showers and go out to a big breakfast with Grandma. Then go to my Uncle's houses and open there presents they bought us. And last but not least go home and hangout with some friends.
A family tradition I would eliminate would be all of the Christmas music because them radio and television play them before Christmas, during Christmas, and after.
My favorite part of the book so far is when Junior and Penelope figured out that they were going to raise money for the homeless. On Halloween Junior went to the res to see if he can earn some money. He did, but a few boys came up and beat him up and took all the money. He felt horrible. All he could think about is what he is going to tell Penelope when he gets to school tomorrow. The worst part of the book I think is when his sister moves away writes letters twenty four seven. Talking bad about her life is even though she didn't like it back on the res either. I think she is inconsiderate of her brother.
The best book I think I've read in this class so far is Heartland. I love horses and its about saving horses that have been neglected, abused, and in some way mentally too. The owners of Heartland are Amy and her sister Lou. Their mother died. Its a very heart warming and comforting book so far.
My birthday is on December sixth. When its any of our birthday's we go to my grandmas and have a fabulous dinner. She makes this delicious sweet and sour spare ribs, green beans and chopped bacon, baked potato and all the ingredients, garden or Cesar salad, cottage cheese and pineapple, and last but not least Oreo chocolate cake and vanilla bean ice cream. I usually get money for my birthday so I can do whatever I want with it. Most of its going to go to my family's Christmas presents, and a tanning package.
On my Thanksgiving week I'm going to go to Redmond finals for a rodeo. Then on Thanksgiving we are going to my grandma's to eat our turkey dinner. After I'm probably going to go hangout with my best friend's family. Most of the week I will probably hangout with some friend's I haven't hung out with for awhile. I'm glad we have some days off school so I can relax and sleep in. Hopefully I get to see my dad on our break too.
I think the book title means Junior is half Indian and half white and he gets treated differently no matter what. Even though he lives on the reservation with full blooded Indians everyday their is a problem with junior and the kids everyday. I think the author chose this title so he can get through to people no matter what race you are or how you look, Treat people the way you would like to be treated.
I love music. I listen to it twenty four seven. If there was no more technology in the world it would be bad. A lot of music is peoples life's. We need cell phones for emergencies. TV I don't really care for it but Its fun to watch. If there wasn't any computers there would not be offices and a lot of jobs would be gone. There would be no computers in school. I wonder what the teachers would think about that?! There most likely would not be a lot of jobs out there like there are now.
Junior is quiet, friendly, and smart. He has two sides of him. His white side is with nice clothes and has a great future ahead of him. And the Indian side is glasses, shoes from goodwill and a trash bag for a backpack. He has a family history of diabetes and cancer too. People he lives with on the rez are not very nice to him. He's scared to go anywhere because he always gets picked on or beat up.
I think the new book is creative. Just by the couple of pages we read yesterday he writes the way he wants to write. And like the way he drew his illustrations and the way the pages were written. Its sad that he gets picked on all the time in school, and at home on the rez. Hopefully the book gets better.
Well I have two obstacle in my life. One is that two years ago my parents got divorced and I never thought that would happen in my whole life. I went through depression for like a year and didn't go to school when that was occurring. I always felt sick and could not get up for the life of me. Finally I tried going back to Mcnary and it still didn't work. I got in a fight and was never allowed there again. I really had know where else to go because Mckay didn't want me either or South and West. So I came here and its been fun and I'm glad I'm doing good and coming to school.
The book I am reading is called The Cheat. Its about some friends at school had a exam in class and a couple people tried to look for the answers from last years exam so they can cheat on their tests. Of course it didn't work. The teacher that was grading the exam and he saw that only a couple people had the same wrong answers so he called the principle and called all of them down to the office. After school was out something weired happened to bobby. He just disappeared. So he was gone all night he was so scared to go home to his mother and father and tell them that he cheated on his exam. He was eating out of trash cans living like a bum. He saw this man drop food and a drink in a trash can. He looked around and went for it.. But he shouldn't have done that. Two cops came up and asked him what he was doing and he was caught right there. I like in the book that the author wrote their names on each page of the person who is talking next. I don't really know if this book will pull it together so I can understand the book and what its trying to say.
So ever since I was little we have been going to rodeos. My dad was a bull rider in Texas then he meet my mom at jewelry school. They got married here Oregon and he kept riding until he broke his collar bone and punctured his lung. Once me and my bro were like nine we started to rodeo. My brother is a bull rider and bareback rider and I'm a barrel racer. When I barrel race there are three barrels in the arena shaped as a three leave clover. You have to go around the first one turn right around then the next is left around the barrel then the last one you turn left to and just kick your hose til it gets past the eyes. When your barrel racing you have to go as fast as you can and the person with the lowest time like 15.83 than you will probably be in second or third.
The animals are great They sure know how to mate The little ones are warm When they're barely born Animals are so dang funky They sure know how to keep you grumpy
My favorite song would be Justin Moore "Small town USA". The topic is about being in your small town you live in. Your a hard working citizen and with your love of your life. I think the main idea in this song is no matter what you can always come back to your small town and feel happy and relaxed. Most of the song is pretty much a love song. He wants to have her by his side where ever he goes. The theme of this lovely song would probably be a simple life, church on Sunday, and no worries just living life day by day.
I think when people write poetry or song writing they are speaking how they feel or what they went through. I love music. I kind of like poetry but I have no clue how to write it. Different kinds of music puts you in different moods. I like all sorts of music like, hip hop, country, a little bit of rock and probably some slow jams.
My family tradition is every summer our family gets together and goes camping. We go camping in a special place where no one really goes. Its called Big Summit Prairie. We like to go camping where it's not by any roads or a lot of people. Its more fun when you can go fishing and not have other people around you. Our family usually stays for about a week and a half. We do all sorts of stuff like, fishing, hunting, swimming, cooking delicious food, sitting by the fire and eating s'mores. Our family doesn't go camping anymore because my mom and dad got divorced about two years ago. I miss going camping with all of us.
My weekend was great. I went to spend sometime with my granny. I always help her with her chores inside and yard work of course. My grandma is funny, outgoing, and just a ball of fire. When she laughs you automatically have a smile on. When I see her we always get Taco bell. I don't know why.We just end up going their. I love my grandma she is one of a kind.
What I remember about September 11Th is sadness. Everyone was sad I know I was. The twin towers were totally destroyed. Hundreds of people were killed and injured. Eveybody was talking about it at least months after the horrible accident. Today I would like to know how all the family's and friends are doing of the people that were killed on September 11Th. When I saw the news I automatically sat down and watched the news forever. Every time I hear about the twin towers I replay the air plains crashing in to the skyscraper buildings and all you see in a giant cloud of gray covering the sky and building.
If I could go anywhere outside the united states I would probably go to Costa Rica. I love hot places. I hate the rain. I wanna be in the water and tanning on the beaches, shopping, hangout with friends. I like how the hot sun brightens each day it makes me happy when its a beautiful day.
My most embarrassing moment is when I was with my best friend, and some friends and the boys wanted pizza. So we stopped at little Cesar's. And the boys went in side to order their food. This little boy and his family were walking with their grocerys right on the side walk in front of little Cesar's. Then the little boys bag rips and a giant jar of dill pickles crashed and hit the pavement. I got out of the car and helped pick up the broken glass with Danielle's boyfriend.
My favorite things about the fall season is you get to wear cute winter clothes. Also it looks pretty when all the leaves change colors. I hate the rain so that's what I don't like about the fall and winter season. The rain makes the bottom of your pants wet and everything else wet. When your wet that makes you more colder than you already are. I think fall season and winter make people a little depressed. It puts me in a bad mood because its ugly and dark outside.
I think people become addicted when they are around people that are using. Also the groups that they may hangout with. People may become addicted when they are depressed and just turn to drugs to make them feel better.
If I lost everything in a natural disaster I'd be devastated. I would try and save my family first, my animals and every body's clothes. I would try and save our family pictures of us and of my grandma and grandpa.
Well, dedication means in my life that if you really want to do something and you put your mind to it you can do it. I'm trying to be more dedicated to school than I was last year. It's working so far.
One of my favorite foods are my mom's pork chop's and gravy with mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad and Texas toast. I love Taco Bell and Subway. I can eat it everyday. What I get at taco bell is two chicken supreme chalupas with no lettuce/tamatoes and a Pepsi. And what I get at subway is a foot long on Italian herb and cheese bread with chicken fajita toasted with American cheese, ranch, olives salt and pepper oil and vinegar.
Well my whole life I've been doing rodeo. My dad and his brothers and sisters grew up doing it to. I barrel race. Its such an adrenaline rush! I love it and when you're 18 you can go in to the NPRA. That stands for national rodeo association. You can make thousands of dollars in just one rodeo. Or I can be a jeweler like my mom because I already know how to do some of the stuff.
My favorite family member is my twin brother. We are always having fun, laughing, and making the best out of what we have. He's kinda like my dad figure after my parents got divorced. I love him. He's my favorite.
My favorite music is country and hip hop. Also I like to listen to everything. My favorite country artists are Jason Alden, Eli young band and George straite. My favorite hip hop music is Lil Wayne, Too Short.
My opinion on Obama's speech is I agree that you should not give up on yourself or your family and friends. I disagree with whats going on at home when you come to school put on a front of happiness. When I'm upset and whatever's going on at home I'm not going to change my feelings for school. It just doesn't work like that for me.
Things I like to do in my spare time are chillin with my best friend, going to rodeos with my family, going on vacation, fishing with my brother and papa.
My summer was fun. It went by really fast but at least it was mostly hot weather.Well something interesting about my summer was I got thrown off a quad. Plus I got nasty road rash but other that it was fun. I went to some more rodeos this summer, met some new people and had a pretty good time other than that.
Well for this summer my family and I are gonna be rodeoing a lot. I haven't seen my dad or brother in like 4 months. I miss them very much can't wait to see them next weekend. I cant wait to go swimming in rivers and pools with my friends. I'll be camping a lot to. My bro, mom, sister, and I are going to Nevada for the 4Th of July for the rodeo finals.
READING FOR THE SUMMER.
I'm going to read every morning once I get out of the shower in my room for an half an hour.
I think I am more like Rosaleen because she is tough, outgoing and snobby sometimes.I think Rosaleen in ways is not like me because she is kind of not as talkative as I usually am.
I think that August will be upset and mad a little bit when Lily tells her. I think she will get over it and have Rosaleen and Lily live with her forever. August grew to care about the girls and I don't think a kind hearted person like August will make them leave and never come back.
Well the closest person that is not blood is Hillary. She is a wonderful girl. Always smiling, she's outgoing, fun, and happy. She is always helping others. Pretty much my Hilly would give you the last shirt off her back. I love her. We are always hanging out together and having fun. The funniest thing about our friendship is that we NEVER fight. I love her and always will. My family and Hillary's family are always having barbecues, taco night, birthdays. We are all two big happy family's.
she feels comfortable compared to when her and Rosaleen lived with T ray. Big house at least 5 or 6 rooms, she is actually doing something she likes with August and the girls.
My favorite part about this book is when they met August and she let her and Rosaleen stay in her home. I think August is a very caring and warm hearted person to let the girls stay in her home. Plus the girls have been in enough trouble as it is.
The worst part about this book is when Rosaleen got beaten by the men that she poured the snuff spit on.
Over the weekend my friends and I went to the river for like two days. I got much tanner. We played in the water for awhile and then it got too cold. Sunday my girl friends and I went over to my friends house and we all watched movies and ate candy and had fun.
I think the queen bee in this book is August because she runs the house, the honey business, her land.she tell all the girls what to do but in a nice way. Like chore wise.
Well this weekend me and my mom are going to a high school rodeo in McMinnville Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. My dad and my brother and me all rodeo. My brother and father are bull riders and I'm a barrel racer. We have been rodeoing our whole life so its nothing new. I love it. its a blast.
My Best Friend Danielle Well to start off she is an outgoing person, and always wants to have fun. We kind of have the same style in clothes, but totally NOT boys. She is always there for me when things get tough. Danielle is very out spoken. She will tall you how it is sometimes, but other than that she is a sweet girl. We are like two peas in a pod. She is always smiling, but if anything doesn't go her way oh god she will throw a fit. She thinks she is always right at everything (ha) and she's not but I will always love her, She is like another sister to me. I wouldn't get a new best friend if somebody paid me cause money can't buy friendship.

character: best friend:Danielle Well my best friend is always wanting to have a great time. She always thinks she's right at everything. Most of the time we get along but sometimes she will have her moments and freak out! We always make something fun if its not. we will work together and make it so we have a good time. funny caring smart outgoing bubbly
Sue Monk Kidd was born in a small town called Sylvester, Georgia. She has always wanted to be a writer ever since she was a little girl. Sue majored in nursing and graduated in 1970 from Texas Christian University with a degree. Her first book she wrote was God's Joyful Surprise. Sue worked a lot throughout her twenties, then got married and had two beautiful kids Bob and Ann.
The civil rights movment started in the 1950's and 60's. Blacks could not vote, the were virtually powerless to prevent whites from segregating all aspects of southern life. The reconstruction governments had passed laws opening up economic and political opprotunities for blacks. By 1877 the Democratic party had gained control of government in Southern states, ans those Southern Democrats wanted to reverse black advances made during reconstruction. Blacks had seperate schools, resturants, parks and transpertation. http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761580647/civil_rights_movement_in_the_united_states.html
It was the middle of the night and suddenly I remembered I was so busy doing my history and math that I forgot to study for my midterm tomorrow. So I get up and turn my lamp on and sit at my desk and start studying. Suddenly I hear something scratch on my window. I got scared and thought I should go to bed. I've been studying for and hour and a half. So I turn my lamp off and run and jump into bed. I lay there thinking gosh I'm gonna be tired tomorrow.
I think heaven should be like high up in the sky, sitting on big fluffy clouds, always the sun shining, everybody smileing. I would want to live in my own house even when I'm past away in heaven.
I believe in not doing drugs because my mother and father got divorced because of that. Every time I think about it or see it I just walk away or do something else. So pretty much you should never do drugs period. Because it ruined my life and m family's. It puts your family and friends through pain and puts you though pain too. When my sis and brother were younger all of our friends wanted our family because they said it was just so perfect. All of us were like, "I know. I love my family. Its so much fun." Even though everything wasn't perfect my mom tried so hard to make our family as happy and working as possible. Once my brother and I got old enough we started figuring it out. I was daddy's little girl. Ever since I knew he was using drugs my world flipped upside down. I was a totally different person. I didn't want to talk to anyone, do anything...nothing. I was so mad and sad I didn't care about anything.
